Colour of Couture Runway Challenge “DSquared2”

For those of you who have been following the 2014 Colour of Couture Top Model Competition, I thank you for your support!  This amazing experience is nearing an end, and our final runway challenge before the grand finale and crowning of CoC was our interpretation of the RL Spring 2014 DSquared2 Collection.  This collection was inspired by 1950’s bombshells and was just dripping with old hollywood sex appeal.  From the tousled curls to the legs with no end…this collection was all about femininity.

I took my inspiration from the Monochromatic section of DSquared2’s Spring/ Summer collection. There were a few black and white looks which I felt really exuded old Hollywood glamor and sex appeal. I knew I wanted to show LOTS of leg, and to do so with a retro high-waisted bottom. I loved the rich look of a snow-white outfit with black accents on the shorts, bra, and jacket.

Many of the models in the collection were seen in big-brimmed sun hats and cat eye glasses so I knew I wanted that to be a part of my styling. I also stuck with soft retro waves and coral colored gloss which I noticed on many of the models, particularly in the monochromatic designs. The over sized tote bag features a crocodile print which I chose after seeing it on some coats in the collection. I completed the look with some statement earrings and an elegant brooch for an elegant finish to the look.

Soles4Souls, a charity I belive in and we can easily support! #Colour of Couture

Hey hey all 🙂  Our last Colour of Couture challenge was an especially exciting one.  We had a chance to research a real life Charity which we would like to support, should we be chosen as Miss Colour of Couture 2014.  After some debate I chose the Soles4Souls campaign, which holds a four-star rating with Charity Navigator.

Did you know that there are approximately 3 BILLION people living in poverty on our planet?  And did you realize that at least 3 MILLION of those people don’t even own shoes?  Yet, we throw away nearly 700,000 tons of apparel and footwear in our landfills annually.  Soles4Souls offers a simple and practical solution to solving this problem.  Rather than throw your shoes away, simply donate them to a Soles4Souls local drop box, or raise community awareness by starting your own drop box in your community.

Soles4Souls estimates that every dollar donation = a pair of shoes for someone in need.  The organization has partnered up with several global shoe companies who are now regularly donating their rejected shoes and older models.  One of the most exciting opportunities of the Soles4Souls organization is the creation of micro-businesses throughout the world, which allows people to profit off the sale of the shoes and have hope in their lives for the future.

LD “That 70’s Romper” available at The Fashion Collective tomorrow!

LD Blac Collection – The Incline Gown

Lovelies, as promised I wanted to get started right away showing you the amazing creations in the new Loovus Dzevavor “Blac Collection”.  This is the magnificent dress I was fortunate enough to wear for the Model Search finals, and it just happens to be my very favorite piece in the entire collection.  I’m sure you can see why!

There is no way a photo can do this texture justice.  You will really have to see it in person to get the full “disco-ball” effect.  The tiny metallic panels on the gown are constantly shimmering and giving off spectacular colorful lights…I’ve truly seen nothing in SL with such a texture.  It really comes alive.  Oh, and don’t let me forget to mention that this gown comes in the new Fitted Mesh option.  This new technology fits you like a glove and moves with your body perfectly.  I kept my styling minimal because absolutely nothing can compete with this creation, and it needs no further enhancing.  Enjoy.

Loovus Dzevavor in Black & White….

Happy happy day lovelies!  Lots of excitement on the grid today and before I say more I just have to announce that I was chosen as one of the five new ambassadors of Loovus Dzevavor!  It’s no surprise that LD is one of my absolute favorite fashion houses in SL, so to be chosen as an official member of their team is just an incredible honor.  I will be blogging as many of the LD designs as possible in the days ahead, but I didn’t want to wait a second more to tell you about the new “Blac Collection” which debuted today at our Model Search finals!

The Blac Collection is the very first monochromatic collection by LD.  A brand known for it’s vibrant colors and patterns, Vikeejeah and her design team have really upped their ante with this daring and absolutely divine new collection.  The garments are truly stunning and include everything from avant-garde to the very classic.  This collection is inspired by LD’s very first spokeswoman, the lovely Blac Quartz, and includes fitted mesh technology and materials you never knew existed in SL.  I won’t post pictures of every garment here today, but go be one of the very first to see it for yourself!
